Subjective Frame
Mood and feeling set by the painting. This needs to be changed into how the artists wants the Audience to react, This stops you from using the first person as this does not make a strong essay. Essays are best written in the third person.
Structural Frame
Think of the structure of a building. You need to discuss the structural aspects of the artwork a number of these aspects can be found in the citation. The form and the materials used. The elements and principles of art. It is the Visual Language of Art. Line, tone, colour, texture, composition, balance, size and shape.
Cultural frame
Race, religion, politics and the culture of the artist and the intended audience, when it was made and now.
Postmodern frame
This not required for this exam.

Conceptual Framework
The triangle with four different areas. Artist- Artworld- Artwork and Audience. One on each corner and Artwork in the middle of the triangle. When you are discussing an artwork it doesnt just happen on its own. there are a number of influencesand the triangle shows us how issues can cross over. You did one in class during the Pop Art topic.
