Online Podcasting tools

Posted by nbro  Published in Year 8, podcasting

Hi Year 8,

Below are two wonderful resources for your podcasting project.

The first is

Podomatic.com – a free online podcast recording site. You will need to sign up with your initial and lastname as your username & then test the recording & editing capabilities. We are testing this site instead of WildVoice.

Step 1 – go to the site.

step 2 – sign up with username firstinitial & surname e.g. jsmith

step 3 – go to my podcastpodomatic_step1

step 4 – click on post a new episode

podomatic_step21

step 5 – choose to record via microphone

podomatic_step3

step 6 – record & save your podcast sample

step 7 – Complete your comparison table in your portfolio to see if this podcasting tool can do all things you need it to. Are there any advantages to recording your podcast directly onto a website?

The second resource is a Free Sound Effects website. This will come in handy once you start recording your podcast.

Have fun!

Photoshop Poster Challenge

Posted by nbro  Published in Photoshop, Uncategorized, Year 8

Dear Year 8,

Your Photoshop challenge is as follows:

To design a fabulous A4 poster in Photoshop on the theme “Far, Far Away…” – This can be interpreted any way you like.

The aim is to show off your creative Photoshop skills.

Rules:

VERY IMPORTANT! You are only use images that you find on the website below (don’t worry they have THOUSANDS and THOUSANDS) use the search function in the top left corner.

Also -

  • you must first complete a mindmap of all your ideas for interpreting the theme
  • you must have fun, experiment and try something new
  • you only have the double period to complete your design

Lastly, to get that creativity flowing have a look at these two websites to see how professional graphic designers have blended images together.
