Commenting on a Post
March 8, 2008 – 1:34 pmThe easiest way to begin participating in an online discussion is to comment on a post. Anyone can comment as long as they enter their name and an email address. (Email addresses won’t appear on the comment, but including it is a precaution against spam & pranksters.) Depending on how the blog is set up, the comment may appear online immediately or after it is moderated by the blog administrator. Comments can relate to any aspect of the post, but students should understand that school blogs are different than their personal social networking sites or online chats. Just as we act differently in a classroom or as guests in someone’s home, comments and posts made to school online spaces can be heated, witty and intellectually brave, but students should exercise their judgment in terms of appropriateness.
