Change your Blog Password

March 8, 2008 – 10:12 am

The needed steps are shown below in regular text while the “nice-to-know” bits are greyed out. It’s a really good idea to change your password to one of your choosing (most people use the same password they use for Oxley email and network access).

This is simply done using the following steps:

1) Go to your Blog and look for a link that says “Log-in”

login

2) This will take you to the log-in window (also always located at your blog’s address plus “/wp-admin”). Enter your username (usually your last name) and the given password.

If prompted to remember your password, don’t do so now as you’re about to change it. The next time you log-in – if it’s at your own personal computer, not a shared one, go ahead and let the browser remember your new password.

4) You are now in the administration part of the blog, known as the “dashboard.” At the top right of the browser window, you’ll see a link to your “Profile.” Click on this link.

5) Scroll down to the bottom of this new page and enter your new password in both of the required fields.

Before you leave this page and go on to the “Write” or “Manage” links in the Dashboard menu, take a look to make sure a little box is ticked on this Profile page. It should be:
