Oxley College teachers are involved in a pilot project using iPads with their students. These teachers have received extra training and access to an iPad and can check out the College’s iPads for their classes.
After using the iPads, we’d like to ask students for their input.

John Wenborne and Jeff Vardy joined the AGQTP iPad pilot teachers at Oxley College for several sessions exploring using the iPad for classroom-based learning.
Below are some links and resources to support the session. You can still access the links and activities from the first workshop.
We can use this Google Doc to begin to develop the activities you want to pilot using the iPad with students.
One of the things we’d like feedback on is which apps should be part of a “default” set-up. Here are some suggestions. Use the Comment link to add your ideas to the thread started for this topic.
Also consider:
Your teachers may ask you to join their department’s blog in order to add comments or participate in online learning. You do not have to be registered to use OxleyLearning, only if you have been asked to contribute to it.
If so, here’s what to do:
1. Click to “Register” or look for the link in the bottom right of the sidebar menu:
2. Fill in the form on that page that looks like the screen clipping below. Fill in the fields as indicated.
3. Check your school email address, looking for the message from “Oxleylearning.org”.
4. Click on the link to confirm your registration.
5. You will have been added to OxleyLearning, but now you need to be assigned to a specific blog or department site. Your teacher will send your name in a list of all others indicating that you are to be added.
Note: Once you have registered for OxleyLearning once this year, you do not have to do it again – you only need to have your account added to the different departments’ blogs.
Note: Once your iPad is set up for local networks with its WiFi Address, make sure you know your wireless passwords. Once you have added these zones, they will be remembered and you won’t have to log into them again.

As we wait for WiFi access, let’s share what we’ve found so far. Some things can be demonstrated through the projector.

In this activity we will use the Diigo Web Highlighter in the context of discussing uses for the iPad in the classroom.

Google also provides online forms that work great for easily posted surveys or quizzes.
