Amazing Nature
The video below shows a series of pictures of the same subject, revealing one aspect at a time so that students can See – Think – Wonder as information is revealed. (you can view all the photos at one time from this link).
Primary students can use the See-Think-Wonder worksheet to make their thinking visible. Older students might want to use the comments on this post.

Here are 3 student work samples where Mrs. Syrros and Mr. March helped Kindergarten students express their “Wonder.” They are from Hunter, Ainslie and Sophie.
What’s it Painting & how did it learn this?!!
See – Think – Wonder
Look at Sienna and Brendon’s great drawings! They both did an especially good job of depicting details and thinking about how this could have been achieved – jelly beans or remote control! Click on the images to see larger versions.

See – Think – Wonder
Mr March woud like to share Sophie and Harry’s very colourful and detailed See-Think-Wonder sheets. Well done, students!
Ahoy, me Hearties!

Draw “A Day in the Life” of either the owner or this dog. Show at least three things that happen during the day.
View the video and try the activity!
This activity invited students to draw either a factual or a fantasy version of what they saw. Was it a dog dressed up as a pirate by a creative owner or was it a true pirate pooch? Many students fulfilled these goals and shared their work in class. Mr March chose two to post here. He particularly liked Ainslie’s factual detail in depicting the literal version and Hunter’s detail in showing a series of events. Click on each to see a larger version.
The Waking Great Dane
This video shows a great dane dog waking and having difficulty standing up. We asked students to give the dog a name, draw the people who help the dog and show what it might have been dreaming about.

The activity encourages both careful looking at what’s in the video as well as an imaginative response. Many students fulfilled these goals and all shared their work in class. Mr March chose two to post here. He particularly liked Georgia’s use of what was actually in the video (the chair) and Will’s fresh idea of actually burying the bone his dog dreamt of. Click on each to see a larger version.
