- Ways to make classroom lessons more dynamic through the use of projected 3-D images to illustrate mathematical concepts. This would require a data projector and learning objects created with Geometer’s Sketchpad.
- Enriched and extended activities to allow for more differentiation of instruction. This might take the form of links to Web sites or participation in a “Problem of the Week” where students collaborate with other students online.

An ongoing focus on data gathering and statistical analysis by year 8 students. This could involve writing online surveys that target helpful data collection on such a range of topics as “canteen choices” to “feelings about life at Oxley College” to “tracking the pulse of young Australians.” Year 8 maths students could perform this service for the wider needs of the college and gain insights into interpreting data. A further possibility is to use a Subject Sampler to help students understand the nature of statistics (see an example on the topic of “budgeting“).
